South Beach is in South Fremantle.  The foreshore area is a long strip of grassed picnic area with lots of huge old trees to provide shade.  Over a small sand dune is the beach, and the picnic area and playground has ocean views.

The playground at South Beach is a traditional steel frame configuration, and has soft fall underneath it but unfortunately no shade sails.  It is good fun for a quick play followed by a picnic under the trees.  The South Beach Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch and does a great takeaway coffee.
