Robert Thompson Reserve in Noranda has a new playground (opened in mid 2010), close to Noranda Palms Shopping Centre.

The playground has a fenced off toddler area, a rock climbing wall, swings and a big climbing net that spins around.  The ground is a combination of sand and softfall.  In the summer months there will be shade sails over some of the play areas - There are poles for the shade sails you can see in the photos (which were taken in winter).

Around the park there are lots of flat footpaths that are great for riding bikes or scooters or skating.  There are some BBQs and picnic tables.  There is a public toilet in the park.

The coffee comes from Noranda Palms Shopping Centre - which is across the road from the park.  You need to walk through the carpark to get to the shops, so it is about a 5 minute walk.  There are a number of coffee shops in the centre and a Red Rooster if you want to have a picnic in the park!
