Riverton Bridge |
The Riverton Bridge Reserve is in Wilson where the old Riverton bridge crosses the Canning River. The 'new' bridge is the Shelley Bridge on which Leach Highway crosses the river, just to the north of the park. The park is a beautiful spot by the river. The playground area is small and has no shade, so you don't want to be going there on a really hot day without hats and sunscreen. The playground is fenced on the road side with mesh fence, and a wooden fence separates it from the river (but this would be easy to get through or over by a bigger toddler). There is a simple climbing structure and a set of swings. There is a brand new cafe in the park - it is called LoQuay River Cafe - and housed in a brand new building. The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch and cakes 7 days a week, and does takeaway coffees. There is an inside eating area and an alfresco area looking out over the river. If you have older kids, you could sit outside and have coffee while watching the kids on the playground. Address Fern Road Wilson
