Great parks - no coffee - North |
These are great parks north of the river that we have visited or heard about from visitors to the site. Unfortunately they don't have coffee really close by - perhaps a drive through coffee on the way? If you know of anymore parks to add to the list please let us know - use the Suggest a Park tab in the top right corner of the site. Stirling Civic GardensThis park has a playground designed like a train. It's big and has lots of flying foxes. There a picnic tables and BBQs. The park is on Cedric Street in Stirling, just to the east of the freeway. Parking is off Cedric Street or Telford Crescent, or you can walk from the Stirling Train Station. Mueller Park SubiacoJust near PMH and Subi Oval- this playground has been recently updated to have a musical theme. Carine Open SpaceLovely playground and a great place for a picnic. Toilets are available but quite a walk from the playground. MacAulay Park cnr Hamas Pde and Dundas Road Inglewood (parking off Hamer Pde)The play equipment is very modern and quite unusual. There is soft fall under the play equipment for older kids, and sand under the swings and equipment for younger kids. There is some shade from trees. There is at least one picnic table and two BBQs. Toilets available in the park. Saw Avenue Picnic Area Kings ParkThere is a new playground in this park of Kings Park, it looks interesting and artistic but has only one moving element - a ring-shaped swing. The new playground has picnic seating and a drinking fountain and BBQ. Toilets and parking nearby. A beautiful cool breezy setting with shade from trees. Neil Hawkins Park JoondalupIt has a playground, BBQs, shady trees, and toilets plus cockatoos, a jetty over looking Lake Joondalup, and opportunities for bush walks. No coffee but ice cream van on the weekends. It is off Lakeside Drive in Joondalup. Sir James McCusker Park IlukaA great play area, BBQ facilities and a lake. Unfortunately there are no toilets in the park. Ellenbrook Water Playground EllenbookLibrary Ave Ellenbrook. Millet Park Innaloo Huntriss Road InnalooWe are told Millet Park is also known as Spiderman Park - it has a twin spacenet rope climbing frame, the only one we know of in Perth. There are 2 spacenets joined together with a web bridge. Really cool. The spacenet is on sand and there is no shade. There is also a small steel frame play area on softfall, this has a shade sail above it. A picnic gazebo and toilets also available. Parking and easy access to the play area is off the side street. |
