There is a fantastic playground on the grass area up above the beach at Cottesloe - just to the north of the carpark.  It has lots of interesting equipment that we have not seen anywhere else.  There is also lots of sand nearby if you get bored with the playground and want to build sand castles.

The coffee can come from the kiosk at the pavilion on the beach, (it is a little bit of walk through the carpark), or there are a range of coffee / deli type places across the road from playground. Beaches Cafe on the corner of Napier Street seems to be the closest.
